Nudify apps explained: tools we reviewed
Nudify apps, explained for readers in Poland: how the technology works, what the risks are and which tools the editorial team reviewed and scored.
What a nudify app does — in one table
A nudify app is a tool that takes a clothed photograph and returns a synthetic image in which the clothing has been replaced by generated skin. Nothing is revealed; the model invents the hidden region. The table summarises what actually happens between upload and download in the nine tools we tested that fit this definition.

The term comes from the DeepNude era: the 2019 desktop app that was withdrawn within days but spawned clones. Modern nudify tools run in the browser, use diffusion models instead of GANs and bill per image. The Polish glossary traces the history in DeepNude and the technique in inpainting.

How nudify AI works: diffusion, masks and why results differ
Every tool in the list above uses a diffusion model with inpainting. The model was trained to remove noise from images step by step; when a region is masked, the model treats it as pure noise and reconstructs it from the surrounding pixels and, in some tools, from a text prompt.
The output is statistically plausible skin, not a photograph of the person — a point that matters both for expectations and for the law.
Results differ for three reasons. First, the base model: most tools build on Stable Diffusion or FLUX derivatives, and a fine-tuned checkpoint (Ainudez, UndressHer) is more consistent than a general endpoint (WaveSpeed’s clothes-changer costs $0.12 per run but scored 8.3 for quality).
Second, mask quality: automatic segmentation fails on loose clothing and complex poses, and only some tools offer a manual brush. Third, resolution policy: UndressWith shows a low-resolution preview and charges $0.99 per HD unlock; PornWorks watermarks free output.
Speed is a policy decision as much as a technical one. Deep-Undress reached 9.7 in our speed test because paid users skip the queue; PornWorks free accounts wait in a slow queue (8.5). Video variants — Ainudez bills 50 credits for a 5-second 480p clip, MyIMG.ai limits clips to 3–8 seconds — use image-to-video models on top of the edited frame, which the glossary describes under image-to-video.
Risks of nudify apps: privacy, payments, malware
Privacy. Every nudify app in our sample requires uploading the photo to the operator. Retention ranges from a declared 24 hours (MyIMG.ai) or 48 hours (Ainudez) to undocumented (JoyFun.ai, privacy 5.8). Payment data adds a second trail; Ainudez accepts crypto, most others card only. We rate privacy at 30% of the score for exactly this reason and describe each policy in the Polish reviews.
Payments. Two patterns recur: prices hidden until checkout (Dreemy.ai, Undress.app) and credit packs that expire or are non-refundable. Undress.app offers refunds within 24 hours; SwapFaces.ai within 30 days; most partners do not state a refund window. Read the terms before buying the larger pack.
Malware. “Nudify APK” downloads and Telegram bots are the most common way to lose an account or a device. None of the reviewed tools requires an APK; all run in the browser. The Polish blog explains the mechanics in Android APK safety and Telegram bots.
Harm to others. The largest risk is not to the user but to the person in the photo. Non-consensual synthetic nudes are a recognised form of image-based abuse; Polish law treats them as a crime, and platforms remove them on report. Nudify and Polish law: art. 191a KK and what follows
Art. 191a § 1 of the Penal Code: whoever records the image of a naked person or a person during a sexual act by violence, unlawful threat or deceit, or disseminates such an image without consent, is liable to imprisonment from 3 months to 5 years. Courts and commentators apply it to altered and generated images; prosecution follows a request by the injured person.
Art. 202 § 4b covers generated or processed pornographic images of minors — no consent argument exists there.
Beyond criminal law: art. 81 of the Copyright Act requires consent to disseminate someone’s image; art. 23–24 of the Civil Code allow claims for cessation, apology and damages; the GDPR treats a face as personal data and the UODO accepts deepfake complaints.
The EU AI Act, art. 50 (in force 2 August 2026) obliges providers to label synthetic images, and the Digital Services Act requires platforms to act on reports of illegal content.

What is a nudify app?
A web or mobile tool that takes a clothed photo and returns a synthetic image with the clothing replaced by generated skin. It uses diffusion inpainting; the output is invented, not revealed.
Is “nudify” the same as “undress AI”?
In practice yes. “Nudify” is the older term from the DeepNude era (2019); “undress AI” became common after 2023. Our ranking covers both under one methodology.
Are nudify apps legal in Poland?
Only on your own photos or consenting adults. Sharing someone else’s nude image without consent is punishable under art. 191a of the Penal Code; images of minors fall under art. 202 § 4b.
Which nudify apps did you actually review?
